Service
At Landport, we strive for continuous support and improvement. This time in the spotlight: our unique new LVS system and the recycling of Euro pallets for the BeNeLux and Germany.
Our new unique LVS system
Ahead of the official launch, we would like to give you a first glimpse of an innovative tool in this newsletter: the Landport Voltage Sensor, or LVS for short.
Manually measuring stored batteries presented several challenges. It required removing batteries from storage, measuring them, recharging if necessary, and then placing them back—an expensive and labor-intensive process.
The Landport Voltage Sensor (LVS) is an innovative sensor that wirelessly transmits real-time voltage readings of stored batteries. Each LVS continuously monitors the voltage of six batteries per pallet and periodically sends the data to a monitoring system. A traffic light indicator clearly signals when batteries need charging. Additionally, the LVS tracks the performance of specific batches over time, providing ongoing insights into battery health.
With LVS, it is now possible to monitor the charge status of batteries in real-time and map voltage trends. Currently, 1,500 Landport Voltage Sensors provide real-time voltage data, optimizing charging schedules and improving battery quality. This efficient inventory management system ensures that batteries are always delivered with an optimal State of Charge (S.O.C.).
"At Landport, we always want to provide our customers with batteries in the best possible charge condition. That’s why we partnered with Cboost to improve our battery status monitoring process. After an in-depth analysis, they developed a tailored solution that significantly reduces manual work, enhances data insights, and lowers costs at the same time." — Dennis Schuurmans, Business & Operations Manager @ Landport Batteries
Introducing Euro Pallets: More Sustainable & Efficient – Available in Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Germany
We are pleased to announce that we now offer Euro pallets for shipments within Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, and Germany. This means that instead of using disposable pallets, we will transition to Euro pallets wherever possible. By making this switch, we can participate in an efficient exchange system that promotes pallet reuse and significantly reduces waste. To make this system work effectively, we rely on your cooperation as our partner—our transporters can only return empty Euro pallets if they are available for collection.
By choosing Euro pallets, we take an important step toward achieving our corporate social responsibility (CSR) goals. Reusing pallets contributes to a more sustainable logistics chain and helps reduce our environmental footprint. Additionally, the exchange system optimizes pallet flow, making it both eco-friendly and cost-effective.
We believe that this transition is not only beneficial for the environment but also strengthens our long-term partnerships. Together, we are building a circular economy and a greener future!

Partnership
Landport takes pride in its long-standing business relationships and is committed to investing in and maintaining both potential and existing partnerships. We are pleased to announce that as of December 1, 2024, we have entered into a new partnership with Mango Mobility, a fellow member of the Louwman Group, and have become their primary supplier of batteries and chargers.
For Mango Mobility, we supply the EVX line—batteries specifically designed to enhance the performance of mobility scooters and electric wheelchairs. These batteries are less susceptible to sulfation, offering several key advantages:
We look forward to building a successful and sustainable collaboration with Mango Mobility!
Did you know (LVS edition)...
...when a battery remains under voltage for an extended period, sulfation can form on the battery plates?
...sulfation is a hardening process that prevents the battery from storing energy?
...sulfation usually causes irreversible damage to the battery plates?
...you can easily prevent this by regularly charging the battery?
...each battery technology has its own specific charging characteristics? For example, a flooded traction battery requires a completely different charging approach than a VRLA AGM battery!
...we can advise you on the right charger to keep your batteries in top condition?
The Strength Behind Landport
Our man (Jesse) in Spain
After nearly a year of working from the Netherlands as an export account manager for Spain, our colleague Jesse van den Boomen is now stationed in Spain. From his base in Barcelona, he can not only serve customers in the northeast of Spain but also reach other regions with ease. This allows him to engage with customers and prospects more flexibly and efficiently— shorter lines, stronger connections.
Just before his departure, we spoke with Jesse about this big step and his plans for the future. Curious about the interview? Read the full article by clicking the button below.
